This four-part series covers the topics outlined in the National Science Education Standards, AAAS Benchmarks for Science Literacy and major texts. In The Nature of Light, students will learn about the frequencies along the electromagnetic spectrum, the visible spectrum and light production. The Using Light, video explores the various uses of light and the role of different types of lenses in light refraction. Sound investigates how sound it is produced, how it travels, its specific properties and its everyday uses. The Waves program explores the characteristics and speed of waves, as well as the basic interactions between waves.
Each interactive video is followed by a 10-question Video Quiz and is accompanied by a teacher-friendly guide containing numerous student activities and assessment tools. Extra features on the DVD include indexes, labeled slides, glossary, animations, English subtitles, and an iMovie project.
