This four-part series covers the topics outlined in the National Science Education Standards, AAAS Benchmarks for Science Literacy and major texts. The Introduction to the Metric System video explains how an understanding of the metric system is essential to effectively learning science. Metric Length and Temperature introduces students to the decimal scale of the metric system including units of millimeters, meters, kilometers and more. Metric Mass and Volume explains the concepts of mass and volume and describes how these are measured in the metric system. Metric Conversions provides a conceptual foundation to help students convert between English and metric units of mass, volume, length and temperature.
Each interactive video is followed by a 10-question Video Quiz and is accompanied by a teacher-friendly guide containing numerous student activities and assessment tools. Extra features on the DVD include indexes, labeled slides, glossary, animations, English subtitles, and an iMovie project.
