This four-part video series covers the topics outlined in the National Science Education Standards, AAAS Benchmarks for Science Literacy and major texts. In The Cell students will learn about the discovery of cells, the development of the cell theory and the differences between animal and plant cells. Cell Processes highlights the important processes necessary for life, including cell growth, cell division, and the processes of diffusion, respiration and osmosis. Protists examines the groups of microorganisms in the Kingdom Protista. Viruses and Monerans describes the structure of a virus and explains how viruses reproduce and cause diseases.

Each video is followed by a 10-question Video Quiz and is accompanied by a teacher-friendly guide containing numerous student activities and assessment tools. Extra features on the DVD include indexes, labeled slides, glossary, animations, English subtitles, and an iMovie project.
