This four-part video series covers the topics outlined in the National Science Education Standards, AAAS Benchmarks for Science Literacy and major texts. The Plants in Our Lives program explores the great diversity of the plant world, and the early history and origins of plants. In Photosynthesis and Plant Resources students will learn why photosynthesis is so important to us and how a plant responds to certain stimuli and various tropisms. Plant Structure and Function discusses how plant structures such as roots, stems, and leaves enable them to grow. The Plant Reproduction video addresses the wide variety of plant reproductive strategies, including asexual and sexual reproduction.
Each interactive video is followed by a 10-question Video Quiz and is accompanied by a teacher-friendly guide containing numerous student activities and assessment tools. Extra features on the DVD include indexes, labeled slides, glossary, animations, English subtitles, and an iMovie project.
