Teacher's Guide

This four-part video series covers the topics outlined in the National Science Education Standards, AAAS Benchmarks for Science Literacy and major texts. The Atmosphere video teaches students about the different layers of the atmosphere. Climate discusses the two basic factors that influence climate, temperature and precipitation, and why certain plants and animals inhabit different climates. The Nature of Weather program explores the daily condition of Earth’s atmosphere, and the factors that influence the atmosphere and cause weather. The Weather in Action program examines the forces that create weather, and the way in which atmospheric conditions and patterns cause changes in the weather.

Each interactive video is followed by a 10-question Video Quiz and is accompanied by a teacher-friendly guide containing numerous student activities and assessment tools. Extra features on the DVD include indexes, labeled slides, glossary, animations, English subtitles, and an iMovie project.
